MORE INFORMATION ON ZAHARA
Zahara was found wandering around a local village, having been spotted numerous times over many months. A volunteer from the shelter had been feeding her and trying to catch her, eventually she was rescued with the help of the association she is now being cared for by.
Zahara is shy and can be quite frightened to begin with, she is scared of being approached with hands raised/quick movements so we think likely she has had a bad experience with humans being cruel in the past. In less than a month however, she now identifies humans at the shelter as being her carers and where her food comes from and will even chase them round the yard for treats! She still doesn’t know how to enjoy love and affection, but this will likely come with time and understanding.
She gets on well with other dogs, and enjoys playing with them.
Zahara will be neutered, is vaccinated and tested negative for all Mediterranean diseases. She is passported and available for adoption now.
