Hurray you are interested adopting one of our Podencos!
If you have any questions about one of our Podencos, please contact us at hopeforpodencos@gmail.com.
Please complete our pre-adoption form. It is our policy to make certain that each person who applies to adopt a Podenco is over 18 years old, fully aware of the responsibilities of dog ownership, and is capable of and willing to accept those responsibilities morally, physically and financially. Not every person who applies to adopt can meet those basic requirements. By completing this form, you will be assisting us in determining if the Podenco you have an interest in would suit you and your family’s lifestyle. This is a lifetime commitment, and you should only complete the form if you are willing to undertake this.
We have put together a list of frequently asked questions to help shed a little light on them as a breed and our adoption process.
What to expect after submitting your pre-adoption form
Once we receive the form, we will set up a time to have a telephone call to chat. We will then arrange a home check (completed virtually) to ensure the safety and security of a Podenco inside the house and garden (if relevant). Once you have passed the home check, we can advise which Podenco(s) are suitable for you and agree on a final adoption date and transport to your home.
Our adoption fee covers the care, preparation and transport of your dog:
UK: £760
EU: €705
Spain: €395 (if no transport required)
Rehome: £340/€395 (if no transport required)
Includes veterinary care/treatment, vaccinations, microchipping, neutering (where appropriate), blood analytics and disease testing, documentation, transport, and a collar and harness.
Selected dogs aged 10+ or with ongoing medical conditions may have a reduced adoption fee of £420/€310, as part of our commitment to supporting these dogs in finding their forever homes.
Payments are usually made in two parts — 50% on reservation and 50% on contract signing. We can also offer payment over multiple months if needed. This does not impact your dog’s transport date, as long as an initial deposit is made upfront.
