MORE INFORMATION ON TIERRA

Tierra is currently living with one of our super fosters in Spain, so she is used to a home life albiet a busy one with lots of other dogs. She was found locally by a family who had her for a short period of time while our foster was prepping to take her in, then they found another pod needing help, when introduced it was clear they knew each other and had a bond so Sol is assumed to be her sister!

Tierra is a little more timid than her sister, she gets on well with all the other dogs in the home but does rely a little too much on Sol who will cheekily steal her food so we know separating them in the long run will benefit them both! She does let you give her a fuss but can shy away early on, she just needs some time to adjust to life with kind people and to understand not all humans can be unkind. She is nice and calm around cats.

We think Sol would do better in a quieter area like a town or somewhere more rural, she will need a garden to allow her some outside space to enjoy as she’s settling into home life - although be warned she does enjoy a dog and will chase pigeons! We also think another dog well balanced would benefit her confidence. Whilst she has been around young children before and down well, they do need to be dog savvy to understand and respect when she needs her space or quite time.

Podenco puppies and adolescents are very cute, but they need consistent training, patience and understanding, especially through the adolescent phase where we find a lot of people tend to struggle. If you apply to adopt Tierra, please ensure you have properly thought through the challenges you might face whilst she matures into a wonderful adult where you can then reap the rewards of your hard work. It is a wonderful experience to bring up a pod puppy, but it is not for the faint hearted!

Tierra is neutered, vaccinated and tested negative for all Mediterranean diseases. She is passported and available for adoption now to travel form October onwards.
