MORE INFORMATION ON RUSTY
Rusty arrived in the UK in November 2020 and has been living life as a pet ina home. Sadly, due to life circumstances he now needs another home.
Rusty is an anxious little lad, but he is very affectionate with his humans and gets on well with bigger dogs. He needs a nice calm home with routine that can help him face the big wide world. He would need a home with a garden in a rural environment with not cats or young children.
He does walk well on a lead but his prey drive is high and he can be reactive to other dogs, and larger vehicles when out on walks. He really struggles with fireworks - but these are all things the HFP team can work with any adopter on to help him continue to thrive.
Rusty has so many positives - he travels well in the car, he is fine with strangers, he can be left for up to 3-4 hours at a time. He loves a fuss and a larger doggy companion - either in the home or as a playdate. But his anxieties have caused him to sometimes not make the best decisions so he will need additional training to help manage these, particularly around his reactivity on walks which he is muzzle trained for and wears when outside of the home.
Rusty is neutered, vaccinated and tested negative for all Mediterranean diseases - he will be retested for Leish and we will also test for Brucella. He is passported and available for adoption now..
