MORE INFORMATION ON FREDDIE

Freddie was rescued in July 2025 and is currently in the care of one of our partner associations in Spain.

Freddie is a playful and loving pup, but he’s still young so it will take some more time before his full personality starts to show through. We have no idea about mum or dad as he was rescued solo, so adopters will need to be mindful that we cant predict his final adult size.

Freddie shares a kennel space with other puppies that are a mix of dog types, he is also walked as part of the volunteer program at the shelter so is getting used to a harness and lead and being out an about the local village.

Podenco puppies are very cute, but they need consistent training, patience and understanding, especially through the adolescent phase where we find a lot of people tend to struggle. If you apply to adopt a podenco puppy, please ensure you have properly thought through the challenges you might face whilst they mature into a wonderful adult where you can then reap the rewards of your hard work. It is a wonderful experience to bring up a pod puppy, but it is not for the faint hearted!

Freddie is vaccinated, and tested negative for all Mediterranean diseases - excluding Anaplasma and Ehrlichiosis as already flagged which he is receiving treatment for and will make a full recovery from. He is passported and available for adoption, he will be ready to travel in September and will need to be neutered at the appropriate age.
