MORE INFORMATION ON CHICO

Chico is a gorgeous small to medium sized pod whose background, like so many podencos is unknown but luckily found his way into the care of one of our partner kennels.

He can be quite skittish at first with people and also new things so he will need someone who is willing to help him overcome any fears he has. Once he gets to know you, he is really happy in your company, and will roll over for belly rubs and tickles which is really sweet. He would be best suited to a house with a garden, so that he can adjust to his new environment in his own time, without the need to go on walks straight away which we expect he’ll find a little nerve wracking at first. It also means a really busy urban area wouldn’t be suitable for him. Another dog would also be a bonus - we know this can help the more nervous ones to progress more quickly - but if you have time and patience, he could be homed as an only dog, but it will take longer for him to really grow his confidence this way. He is not suitable for cats, and could live with older children 12+ due to his skittishness.

Chico will be neutered, vaccinated and tested for all Mediterranean diseases. He is passported and available for adoption now.
