MORE INFORMATION ON CATI
Cati was surrendered by her hunter, along with her mother, and sister Estrella (who is also available for adoption). Their mother has found a home, but the two sisters are still waiting. Cati is currently living in a foster home with Spain with lots of other podencos, so she has some experience of life in a house.
Cati is a sweet girl who is happy to be stroked and she also enjoys a belly rub. She’s currently not the kind of dog that will choose to come and curl up next to you on the sofa for a snuggle but its still early days for her and that might come in time! She spent a number of years as a hunters dog, so affection and home comforts are still new to her and she can be shy with new people in the beginning until she realises that they can be trusted. She is clean in the house, is used to a harness and walks well on the lead and is playful with the other dogs. Cati can sometimes be a little protective over her food and will also try and steal food from the others - this is not uncommon with rescue dogs, so if she goes to a home with other dogs (which is our preference), this will need to be managed and can also be worked on with the support of our trainer. We do think Cati could live as an only dog, but it will take her longer to come out of her shell, so will need a patient adopter who can progress at her pace. Cati could live in a home without a garden as long as her needs could be met, but she wouldn’t be suitable for a busy city - a town, village or somewhere more rural would be ideal. We think Cati could live with older children, as long as they are respectful of her space.
Cati has been neutered, vaccinated and has tested negative for all Mediterranean diseases. She is passported and available for adoption now.
