Canela is a beautiful girl with soulful eyes and the gentlest heart. Quiet, loving, trusting and she has a calm nature.

Canela was rescued in the town of Iznájar after spending weeks wandering the streets in search of food and shelter. Although she had a microchip, it was registered to someone who had passed away. Sadly, after their death, the family no longer wanted her and simply turned her out onto the streets.

Despite everything she had endured, Canela never lost her faith in people. Hungry and frightened, she gently allowed herself to be approached and calmly accepted a lead, as if she knew she was finally safe.

Since arriving at the shelter, Canela has shown everyone what a special dog she is. She is affectionate without being demanding and loves spending time with people. She happily shares her kennel with other dogs and enjoys her twice-weekly walks with our volunteers. She walks beautifully on a harness and lead, is confident around traffic, everyday noises, and strangers, and settles well wherever she goes.

Canela keeps her kennel spotlessly clean, leading us to believe she once lived happily in a home. She adores human company and is always quietly following our volunteers around, hoping for a cuddle or simply to be close to someone.

Canela would be happy in almost any home. She would thrive with or without children, as an only dog where she can enjoy all the attention, or equally as part of a family with other dogs, as she loves canine company too.

Canela is neutered, vaccinated and will be tested negative Mediterranean diseases. She is passported and available for adoption now.
