MORE INFORMATION ON BILLY
Billy was rescued earlier this year from the hunting area of Nijar. When he arrived in foster care he weighed just 16kg, having clearly missed out on the care and nutrition every dog deserves. Since then he has flourished into a healthy 24kg young lad who is now ready to find a family of his own.
Billy is currently living in foster in Spain alongside lots of other Podencos of all shapes, sizes and ages including some small young puppies who he is very curious about but also very gentle with! He’s settled in brilliantly, enjoys the company of the other dogs and is growing in confidence every day. Foster life has given him the opportunity to experience some home comforts and some of the other things that will help him transition into his forever home.
As an adolescent Podenco he is playful, curious and loves getting out and about. He walks well on the lead but will need continued training as he can be strong. He is wonderfully food motivated, making him a pleasure to train using positive, reward based methods. He’s eager to learn and enjoys having both his mind and body kept active.
Billy is an affectionate people-focused dog who enjoys a fuss and likes spending time with people. Despite the difficult start in life, he has a wonderfully positive outlook and approached life with enthusiasm. He forms lovely bonds with people and has a gentle, kind nature that shines through once you meet him.
He has been fantastic with the other dogs and would happily live with other playful, friendly dogs. Equally we feel he could thrive as an only dog, provided he has a family who can give him the companionship, exercise and enrichment he needs. Like any young Podenco, Billy will need a home that understands he is still learning. Outside of that he is a great allrounder and has very few requirements!
Billy is neutered, vaccinated and tested negative for all Mediterranean diseases. He is passported and available for adoption now.
