MORE INFORMATION ON MIRO
Miro had been living happily in a home in Spain, but sadly his owner became terminally ill and could no longer care for him. He is now in foster in the UK, where he has settled beautifully and thoroughly charmed everyone who has met him. His foster family describe him as a perfect gentleman and one of the easiest dogs they have ever cared for.
Above all, Miro loves people. He enjoys seeing what you’re up to, leaning in for a cuddle and spending time together. He is affectionate without being demanding, happy to relax while you get on with your day, and welcoming towards visitors. Even a trip to the vets became an opportunity to make friends, enjoy some fuss and sit on a few knees!
He has lovely manners in the home. He is house-trained, sleeps quietly downstairs overnight and has been comfortable being left for a couple of hours in his foster home. He knows his name, understands sit and paw, waits patiently for treats and takes them gently. Everyday household activity and noises have not seemed to trouble him.
Miro may be approaching his tenth birthday, but he still has a lovely playful side. He enjoys tennis balls, a little play with his foster siblings and the chance to stretch his legs in a secure field. He also loves a gentle, sniff-filled walk and walks beautifully on the lead. He has been friendly with the dogs he meets and enjoys getting out and exploring before heading home for a rest.
He is currently living happily alongside two other dogs, joining in when he feels like it and taking himself away when he wants some peace. We feel he could live with compatible canine companions and could be happy as an only dog, provided he has plenty of human company and attention and some doggy friends to socialise with from time to time. A settled home where he can enjoy regular walks, affection and a comfortable place to snooze would suit him wonderfully.
Miro has also been making encouraging progress around his foster family’s cat. He has been calm during supervised time in the same room, although he can be curious and keen to interact, and shows interest in cats outside. A home with a confident, dog-experienced cat may be possible, subject to further discussion and careful introductions. He has previously lived with a cat when in Spain.
This lovely boy has so much affection and companionship to offer. Having lost the home he knew through no fault of his own, we would love to find him a family who will treasure him and give him the security he deserves.
Miro is neutered, vaccinated and tested negative for all Mediterranean diseases excluding Ehrlichiosis - as already stated he has tested positive and is receiving treatment for this, so we can retest for the all clear. He is passported and available for adoption now.
