Brinkley is 4 months old and weighs just 5kg. This little chap happened to be in the right place at exactly the right time.

His hunter had bought him to the vet as he suspected he was deaf. When the vet confirmed it, the hunter no longer wanted him. Thankfully our wonderful foster Rosy also happened to be at the vets and said she would happily take him on. Who knows what might have happened if she wasn’t there.

He’s a little shy initially but he is starting to come out of his shell and play with the many other dogs at the foster home. We are looking forward to seeing him blossom.

As a deaf dog, Brinkley will learn to communicate through hand signals and visual cues rather than voice. He’ll need a calm, predicatable home where people will approach gently and avoid surprising him. Deaf dogs form wonderfully deep bonds with their people, and will thrive with adopters who enjoy positive training and clear visual communication.

Podenco-Welpen und -Junghunde sind zwar sehr niedlich, erfordern aber konsequentes Training, Geduld und Verständnis – insbesondere in der Jugendphase, in der viele Menschen oft Schwierigkeiten haben. Wenn Sie sich um die Adoption eines Podenco-Welpen bewerben, sollten Sie sich bitte gründlich überlegen, welche Herausforderungen auf Sie zukommen könnten, bis sich der Welpe zu einem wunderbaren erwachsenen Hund entwickelt, bei dem Sie dann die Früchte Ihrer harten Arbeit ernten können. Einen Podenco-Welpen großzuziehen ist eine wunderbare Erfahrung, aber nichts für schwache Nerven!

Brinkley will be vaccinated and tested for all Mediterranean diseases. He is passported and available for adoption now (for the UK he can travel at 6 months old for EU he can travel at 4 months old). He will also require neutering at the appropriate age.
