Hope For Podencos ist eine eingetragene Wohltätigkeitsorganisation, aber wir sind mehr als das. Wir sind eine Gemeinschaft von Menschen, die auf das gleiche Ziel hinarbeiten. Unsere Aufgabe ist es, Podencos aller Formen und Größen zu retten, zu rehabilitieren, zu vermitteln, das Bewusstsein dafür zu schärfen und Unterstützung zu bieten. Wir tun dies durch unser umfangreiches Netzwerk und unser engagiertes Team.
Sie werden nicht länger "die großen Vergessenen" sein, denn wir sind ihre Stimme.

Babu needs an adult only home in a quite environment with a garden, he can live as an only dog or with another well balnaced dog.
He needs to be in his new placement by 11th July 2026.

“Babu is a lovely boy who shows real loyalty and affection once he gets to know you.
In the home he settles very quickly and enjoys being close to his people. His favourite place for sleeping and downtime is his crate, where he happily watches the world go by.
He can be a little unsure at times, but with consistency and a calm approach he really thrives and settles into a routine.
Babu loves being fussed, especially around his neck and ears, and will often come and gently rest his head in your lap just to be close.
On a day-to-day basis he is wonderful company and really just wants to feel safe, loved and part of the home.”
Jimbo is a blind Podenco and has adapted to losing his sight incredibly well - he is in foster in the UK and looking for a home here.

Jimbo needs a calm home with a routine where his humans can remember that change is a big thing for him.
He needs another dog as he gets a lot of his confidence from them and loves to play and cuddle up to them.
He does always need to be on a lead when out on walks and needs guidance from his human for curbs and roads.

Jimbo is a brave little lad and curious to boot!
He has a huge character and is incredibly smart - he has learned to sit, lie down, paw.
He is so affectionate with humans and loves his walks - he has even taken to a doggy back pack when needed!

Cati LOVES being outside and walks beautifully on the lead.
She has her favourite spot on the sofa where she can relax, and whilst she doesn’t necessarily approach for a fuss is happy to have you sit next to her to and give her some affection.

Unsere Gründer.
Irene und Steve Allan haben über 30 Jahre Erfahrung mit Hunden gesammelt: Irene im Ausstellungsbereich und beide als Hundefrisöre. 2009 zogen sie von Schottland nach Spanien und widmeten ihre Zeit der Pflege von geretteten Tierheimhunden in der Hoffnung, dass sie dadurch besser adoptiert werden könnten. So entdeckten sie die Notlage der Podencos. Im Jahr 2014 gründeten sie die Stiftung "Hope For Podencos", die sich auf diese besondere Rasse konzentriert, die dringend Unterstützung benötigt.
Podencos gibt es in allen Formen und Größen.
Wir verstehen, dass nicht jeder in der Lage ist, einen Podenco zu adoptieren. Es gibt jedoch viele Möglichkeiten, wie Sie helfen können.
