MORE INFORMATION ON EVE

Eve is a beautiful young Podenco who arrived in rescue with her sister, Ava, after the pair turned up at a family's home on the coast near Carboneras. The family kindly fed them for a few days while trying to find a shelter able to take them in, and although both girls were underweight when they arrived, they were otherwise healthy.

Eve is now in foster in Spain, where she is getting some valuable experience of home life and living alongside Podencos of all different sizes, ages and personalities. She gets on well with the other dogs and can be playful with them, but she isn't reliant on canine company and her fosterer feels she could also happily live as an only dog.

Originally Eve and Ava lived together, but they have now been separated as Ava had a habit of stealing Eve's food and could be a little bossy with her sister! Eve also enjoys her food and is very food motivated, which should be a real advantage when it comes to training and helping her settle into her new life.

She can be playful with both her fosterer and the other dogs, but at heart Eve seems to be more of a cuddly girl. She enjoys affection and human company and is showing herself to be a lovely, sweet-natured young dog.

Eve already walks well on the lead, having had experience walking alongside her sister, and at her young age she has plenty of time to continue learning about the world with her new family.

Podenco puppies and adolescents are very cute, but they need consistent training, patience and understanding especially through the adolescent phase where we find a lot of people tend to struggle. If you apply to adopt a podenco puppy, please ensure you have properly thought through the challenges you might face whilst they mature into a wonderful adult where you can then reap the rewards of your hard work. It is a wonderful experience to bring up a pod puppy, but it is not for the faint hearted!

Eve is neutered, vaccinated and tested negative for all Mediterranean diseases. She is passported and available for adoption now.
