MORE INFORMATION ON CATI

Cati was surrendered by her hunter, along with her mother, and sister Estrella. Her sister and mother have both been adopted and are living in their forever homes. Sadly Cati was adopted and booked on transport but her adopter let her down at the last moment and pulled out (no fault of Cati’s) so this lovely girl is still waiting. We are looking for a foster or adopter who can step in to help Cati so she gets the chance she has waited so long for. Cati is currently living in a foster home with Spain with lots of other podencos, so she has experience of life in a home.

Cati is a sweet girl who is happy to be stroked and she also enjoys a belly rub. She will also on occasion choose to come and sit next to you on the sofa for a fuss which we think will continue to happen more frequently when she is in a home of her own but she can be a little shy with new people in the beginning until she realises that they can be trusted. She is clean in the house, is used to a harness and walks well on the lead and is playful with the other dogs. Cati can sometimes be a little protective over her food when other dogs are around and will also try and steal food from the others - this is not uncommon with rescue dogs, so if she goes to a home with other dogs, this will need to be managed and can also be worked on with the support of our trainer. We do think Cati could also live as an only dog with a kind, patient adopter or foster who can help her blossom. Cati could live in a home without a garden as long as her needs could be met, but she wouldn’t be suitable for a busy city - a town, village or somewhere more rural would be ideal. We think Cati could live with older children, as long as they are respectful of her space. She can find the TV a little overwhelming and displays some anxious behaviours when its on (no barking, just nervous/worried) but once in a home of her own, with the help of our trainer we will be able to reassure her and we are confident she’ll get over this very quickly. Cati is a wonderful girl who just needs a chance. Her mother and sister have done so well in a home and their adopters are smitten - we know that the same will be said for Cati once she finds her people!

Cati has been neutered, vaccinated and has tested negative for all Mediterranean diseases. She is passported and available for adoption now.
