Aitana is a young and beautiful podenco dog looking for the forever home full of love that she truly deserves.

Originally bred for hunting, Aitana was found alone in an abandoned farmhouse near Benamejí. She was scared, hungry, and struggling to survive. Fortunately, a local association that collaborates with our shelter rescued her, provided her with the necessary care, and helped her regain her strength before arriving at GPAR.

Despite everything she's been through, Aitana has adapted wonderfully to life at the shelter. She happily shares her kennel with two other dogs, hasn't shown any signs of guarding her food. She walks well with a harness and leash, although she may be somewhat cautious in heavy traffic, she is gaining confidence thanks to encouragement and kind treatment.  She has some lovely carefree moments when she is running and playing with the other dogs, but she can be reserved as she gets to know you.

Like so many other Podencos, Aitana is affectionate, sweet, and possesses an incredible capacity for overcoming adversity. Once she trusts you, she will reward you with immense loyalty and love.

Aitana is neutered, vaccinated and will be tested for Mediterranean diseases. She is passported and available for adoption now.
