MORE INFORMATION ON POL

Pol’s story began on the streets of a small town, where he spent months darting between hiding places, too frightened to let anyone near. The only thing that ever drew him out was the sight of other dogs. He would quietly follow them, longing for their company, even when he couldn’t yet trust people.

He was eventually rescued with a humane trap, and those first days in the shelter were overwhelming for him. Everything was new, everything was scary. But Pol is a remarkable little dog. With time, patience, and the steady presence of other dogs, he began to blossom.

Today, Pol is a happy, playful, active boy who adores the company of other dogs. He plays beautifully, is sociable and copies the behaviour of other dogs to understand the world around him. Thanks to them, he has learned the shelter routine and become a wonderfully obedient, eager‑to‑please companion.

With humans, Pol is still learning. He now approaches for treats and gentle strokes, but sudden movements—especially a raised hand—can still worry him. His progress has been huge, but he will need a family who understands that trust takes time, and that patience and kindness will be the key to helping him continue to grow.

Pol needs a quiet, calm home in a town/village/more rural area, A home with a secure garden would help him to take it slowly in the early days and weeks as he adapts to home life after such a long time in the shelter. Pol needs to live with at least one confident friendly dog who can guide him.

Pol is neutered, vaccinated and tested negative for all Mediterranean diseases. He is passported and available for adoption now.
