This little girl was found on a disused railway line. Two young girls spotted her alone on the track—tiny, fragile, and no more than two months old. She was extremely thin and clearly struggling. A thorough search of the surrounding area revealed no siblings or mother. Her rescue came during a period of severe weather, when authorities had issued red warnings for heavy rain and dangerous conditions. In that storm, a puppy so young and underweight simply would not have survived.

She is now safe and receiving the care she needs in foster, where she is finally warm, fed, and enjoying new experiences as she learns about home life.

Colleen is growing into a happy little girl, with a wiggle bum to show it. She loves people and gets on well with other dogs. We think she would suit a variety of families/homes as she is young and embracing new experiences.

Podenco puppies/adolescents are very cute, but they need consistent training, patience and understanding especially through the adolescent phase where we find a lot of people tend to struggle. If you apply to adopt a podenco puppy, please ensure you have properly thought through the challenges you might face whilst they mature into a wonderful adult where you can then reap the rewards of your hard work. It is a wonderful experience to bring up a pod puppy, but it is not for the faint hearted!

Colleen will be vaccinated and tested for all Mediterranean diseases at the appropriate age. She is passported and available for adoption now (due to legislation Collene will not be able to travel until she is 6 months old. She will also require neutering at the appropriate age.
