Funding the Pods
Rescue, rehabilitate and re-home.
There is so much that goes into the work that we do as a charity both on the ground with the Podencos in Spain and anywhere we have re-homed to. We are so incredibly proud of our Spanish network which has enabled us to continue rescuing pods and rehabilitating them after we said goodbye to our own centre, for this we cover every cost for every one of ours dog in their care. To do this we need all the support we can get.
Why do we raise funds?
Even though we are fortunate to have a Spanish network who rescue and rehabilitate the Podencos in Spain, we need to make sure we cover all costs for this - street rescues, vet checks, vet procedures and surgery, neutering, vaccinations and treatment, food, care. Even though we take adoption fees for re-homing this simply doesn’t cover all costs involved in rescue and we would never risk the work of our network by not covering the costs for our own dogs.
As we grow the team in the UK we are picking up more re-homes for Podencos adopted here where the original charities do not have rescue back up in place when things simply do not work out. This requires re-tests, vaccinations, correct harness’s and leads, transport, emergency foster, you name it, we make it happen.
None of this can be done without the support of our incredible community and supporters, and sadly none of these can be achieved without donations. So whilst we no longer have the running costs of a centre of our own - there is still much to be done!

Sponsor a pod
We understand that not everyone can adopt a podenco, but that doesn’t mean you cant have one in your life. By sponsoring a podenco you contribute to all financial costs during their stay in kennels
You can pick a pod on our Adoptions page and click the Sponsor option on their profile to donate a regular amount each month (you can cancel any anytime).

Resident fund
We have many pods come through our Spanish network, some are adopted super quickly, but some need additional time to settle, or treatment to be well enough for transport. Some are simply overlooked.

Donate
Sometimes we are raising for particular causes - surgery for a pod in need, transport for pods going long distance to and from the centre, supporting other charities such as the NAC march in London.

There are other ways to donate.
You can select us as your nominated charity in PayPal, you can set up a fundraiser on Facebook, you can donate a monthly amount of your salary with Benevity. As we work through getting our UK charity number (we are already registered in Spain) we will be sign up to more tools to allow our followers to donate in the best way that works for them.

The Hope For Podencos Resident fund is a monthly subscription (you can cancel at any time!), for the amount of your choice, which helps us to care for the Podencos in our networks care. It’s our single most important monthly donation, because if we can’t rescue and rehabilitate them, we can’t re-home them.
