The Hope for Podencos Volunteer Program is intended for the benefit of our dogs. We have established rules for their emotional and physical safety. If you wish to volunteer with our program, we require you to complete our application form to be submitted.

The safety of our dogs is paramount. We will take a maximum of two volunteers per week. Volunteer duties include: cleaning, feeding, walking the dogs, playing with the dogs, vet runs and airport runs with our staff. You will have fun! It is impossible to spend time with our wonderful dogs and not return home without feeling like you have had an experience like no other!

We offer a residence in Albacete, Spain within the Hope for Podencos Centre that sleeps two people (a room with two twin beds), has a full kitchen, living area and bathroom. The residence is set within large traditional grounds and is a short drive into the local old Spanish village which includes bars, cafes, a Spanish panaderia (typical bakery), pharmacy, bank and a small supermarket.

Due to adjustments to the bedrooms, storage and office, there is a maximum of two volunteers at a time.

PLEASE NOTE: Solo volunteers or parties of two will likely share the residence with other volunteers.

There is always plenty of the unexpected at Hope for Podencos — we start out the day with good intentions to accomplish specific things but the next thing you know, we hear of a Podenco sighting and everything changes! But first and foremost — it is always about what is best for the dogs!!!

your contribution

Having a volunteer program is invaluable to our charity, and we welcome all of those wanting to come and visit us! However there are costs involved that we simply cannot cover and therefore need to ask our volunteers for a contribution. There is the time taken for us to oversee and supervise volunteers and the overall program costs for utilities, etc. You will be included in all the Hope for Podencos activities from veterinary visits and creating media if time permits.

We will do our best to ensure that our volunteers experience the full spectrum of Hope for Podencos life!
