RASCA IS A SURVIVOR - written by Laura Moreno Ruiz
Rasca is a tall Ibicenco, stylized and beautiful, sweet and fearful at the same time for the suffering he has had to experience since he was a baby.
Currently he is over 5 years old and as far as we know, he has been in the cage since he was 2/3 years old permanently with 4 other brothers, he was number 5. He had no room to move and this created problems in the hind legs, although now he is cured of that luckily.
He never served the hunter who had it because Rasca was not going to hunt rabbits, ferrets or cats that this man used as bait for them and their training.
During this course this man had a total of 11 dogs and left to starve 2 of them, the brothers of Rasca, when the complaint came to light, the smiling man told the Authority that he forgot that he had those two there, because he let them die in this way simply because they were not good for their purpose, hunting.
Rasca survived but in the last complaint filed by the Authority finally decided to remove the dogs for the bad possession exercised and when we went to collect them along with the Guardia Civil Seprona that same rainy and sad day there were no dogs left, no brothers of Rasca, only him in a corner dead with cold and fear thinking that he was going to be beaten and starved, he had taken off the water and food for almost a week , wanting so we would find him dead like his two brothers ......
Rasca could be rescued and has lived only in the closest dog shelter to where he was taken and has been kept until today, has not been put together with other dogs even being Podenco (a necessity) and was dying of sadness after EVERYTHING what he had to suffer with that hunter man. All this with the danger that the man was threatening the dog shelter to have Rasca back again!
He has now gained confidence and is adorable as almost all or all the Podencos are generally ... he just needs attention and a lot of love, someone who makes him feel that he is there with him, in this way that is life and he will give it back.
